This session will provide an opportunity for attendees to understand the unique challenges and barriers Tribal Nations and American Indian and Alaska Native citizens encounter whilst participating in the Census, redistricting, and voting activities in their respective counties, states, and the United States. We will take a journey throughout Indian Country and hear from first time voters, elders, grassroots organizers, educators, and elected officials that are working collectively to strengthen the visibility of all AIAN people in civic participation. Attendees will learn about allyship and advocacy needed in Tribal Nations and urban centers serving AIAN people. National Native organizations will share their strategic plans, resources, and provide opportunities throughout the session for brainstorming and action planning with attendees.
